What AVADO does
AVADO is plug-and-play hardware for running blockchain nodes at home. Each box comes with the AVADO operating system and a web interface, the Admin UI, where you install nodes and validators from the DappStore without using the command line. You own the hardware and your validator keys stay on it, so no exchange or staking provider holds your stake.
Ethereum staking is the main use: owners run a solo validator with 32 ETH on a box in their own home (see solo staking on ethereum.org). Owners who already run Rocket Pool minipools on AVADO can keep them running; new Rocket Pool setups are on hold until the AVADO package supports Rocket Pool’s megapools.

Who runs AVADO
AVADO is run today by Informacijske storitve Žiga Flis s.p., a Slovenian sole proprietorship that took over AVADO in 2025. It runs the hardware, the software updates, the shop and support. AVADO was founded in December 2018.

Why home nodes matter
A blockchain is only as decentralised as the machines that run it. When most validators sit with a few exchanges, staking providers and cloud companies, those few can be pressured, fail together or censor transactions. Every validator running at home, on hardware its owner controls, makes that harder.
AVADO exists so that running one doesn’t take server skills. The team packages client releases and network upgrades, and each box installs them automatically unless the owner turns auto-update off. Validator keys stay on the owner’s box, never with AVADO.
